Replace missing and broken teeth with a great natural new smile

Even one missing tooth can have a significant impact on your oral health, affecting how you eat, talk and smile. Without a tooth root to stimulate the jawbone, the bone gradually begins to shrink over time. Neighbouring teeth may drift into the space, affecting your bite, making teeth harder to clean and increasing the risk of further dental problems. Dental implants are the gold standard in tooth replacement — built to sit perfectly alongside your remaining teeth, offering a long-term solution that gives you your smile and your confidence back, whilst also protecting your future oral health.

What to expect at your dental implant and missing teeth appointment

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with the bone over time to create a stable, permanent anchor for a crown, bridge, or full arch restoration. At YOR Dental, every implant case is planned with precision using digital scans and guided surgery to ensure accuracy and predictability from day one. We will always try to preserve your own teeth whenever we can, so long as the tooth is healthy and not putting your other teeth at risk. We can replace single teeth, multiple teeth, or your whole smile with dental implants.

  • Looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth
  • Prevents bone loss in the jaw
  • Does not affect adjacent healthy teeth

Dental implants – what you need to know when considering treatment

Dr Hitesh Panchal from YOR Dental answers some of the most common questions about dental implants. In this Q&A, Hitesh discusses how dental implants work, who they may be suitable for and what patients can expect when considering implant treatment. Whether you’re missing a single tooth, multiple teeth or simply exploring your options, this video provides a helpful introduction to dental implants and the treatment journey.

Implant FAQs

Most adults in good general health are suitable for dental implants. The key factors are having sufficient bone volume to support the implant and healthy gums. If you’ve experienced bone loss, a bone graft may be possible before placement. We’ll assess your suitability in detail at your consultation using a CBCT scan where necessary.

Active gum disease needs to be treated before implant placement. Placing an implant into infected tissue significantly increases the risk of failure. We’ll carry out a full assessment and, if needed, treat any gum disease first to give your implant the best possible chance of long-term success.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic so you should not feel pain during treatment. Some patients experience mild soreness and swelling in the days that follow, which is managed with standard over-the-counter pain relief. Most patients are comfortable returning to normal activities the following day.

With good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups, dental implants can last a lifetime. The crown attached to the implant may need replacing after 15–20 years depending on wear, but the implant itself is designed to be a permanent fixture.

All-on-Four is a full-arch restoration technique that replaces an entire set of upper or lower teeth using just four strategically placed implants. It is designed for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth and want a fixed, non-removable solution. Unlike dentures, All-on-Four is permanently anchored and can often be completed in a single day.

Not always. Bone grafting is only needed if a scan reveals insufficient bone volume to support the implant securely. If required, grafting is carried out as a preparatory procedure and healing time is factored into your overall treatment plan. Your clinician will advise you clearly at your consultation.
