Create the smile you've always wanted with composite bonding
Confidence starts from within but if you feel self-conscious about your smile it can be hard to find it. Composite bonding is a gentle way to help address minor concerns and generally improve the appearance of your teeth for a smile that feels like yours, only brighter and well, more smiley.
Natural-looking results that create a confidence building smile crafted to suit your individual preferences and teeth.
At your free consultation we’ll assess your teeth and confirm bonding is the right treatment for you. If you’re happy to proceed, treatment is usually carried out at your next visit.
We begin by selecting a shade that matches your natural teeth, then gently prepare the surface before sculpting the composite resin by hand. A UV light sets it in place; and a final polish leaves it smooth and natural to the touch.

Dr Deepa Vakil from YOR Dental answers some of the most common questions about composite bonding. In this Q&A, Deepa explains what composite bonding is, who it may be suitable for, what patients can expect from treatment, and how it can be used to enhance the appearance of your smile. If you’re considering composite bonding or simply want to understand more about the treatment, this video is a great place to start.
Composite bonding is used to improve the appearance of teeth that are chipped, cracked, discoloured, uneven, or slightly misaligned. It can also close small gaps between teeth or reshape those that feel too short or worn. Because the resin is sculpted by hand and colour-matched to your natural teeth, the results are subtle and entirely your own.
For most patients, no anaesthetic is needed and the treatment is entirely comfortable. The preparation process is gentle and does not damage the underlying tooth.
With good care, composite bonding typically lasts 5 to 7 years. Brushing twice daily, flossing, avoiding biting on hard objects, and attending regular check-ups will all help prolong the results.
Whitening treatment doesn’t work on composite resin, so the bonding won’t change colour alongside your natural teeth. We recommend whitening first and then matching the composite shade to your newly whitened teeth for the most consistent result.
Yes. Unlike some cosmetic treatments, composite bonding doesn’t permanently alter the tooth structure and can be removed safely if you decide it’s no longer right for you.
Composite bonding is applied to part of the tooth surface and shaped directly in the mouth. Veneers cover the entire front surface of the tooth and are usually more suitable for patients who want a more comprehensive or longer-lasting change. We’ll recommend the most appropriate option at your consultation.
